Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Sova — Budget & Split ("Sova", "the app"), a mobile application provided by kodmap. By downloading or using Sova, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Financial notice. Sova provides personal budgeting and expense-splitting tools, not financial, investment, tax, or accounting advice. Figures and balances are informational records based on the data you enter. You are responsible for your own financial decisions. You use Sova at your own risk.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Sova for your own non-commercial personal-finance purposes, subject to these Terms and the app store's terms.

2. Subscriptions & billing

  • Sova offers an optional Pro subscription (monthly, annual, and lifetime plans) that unlocks premium features such as shared groups and advanced reports.
  • Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Recurring subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. (A lifetime purchase is a one-time payment and does not renew.)
  • Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Prices are shown in the app and may vary by region and over time. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable; refunds are handled by the app store under its policy.

3. Shared expenses & settling up

Sova helps you record, split, and track expenses with people you choose. Sova does not process payments, move money, or act as a payment service, escrow, or financial institution. Balances and "who owes whom" figures are informational records based on what group members enter; settling up happens directly between you and others, outside the app. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you record and for any real-world transfers.

4. Multi-currency

Currency conversions use third-party reference exchange rates and are approximate. They are provided for convenience and may differ from the rates applied by your bank or payment provider.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the data you enter. You are responsible for its accuracy. When you use shared groups, you grant us and your group members the limited rights needed to display and sync that shared data to operate the feature.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, including: reverse-engineering it except where permitted by law; interfering with its operation or security; using it unlawfully; adding people to groups without a legitimate basis; or infringing others' rights.

7. Intellectual property

Sova, its design, content, and trademarks are owned by kodmap or its licensors and are protected by law.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, kodmap is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any financial loss, dispute, or miscalculation arising from your use of the app, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using Sova at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version.

11. Governing law & contact
